Student Community Forum

Governance

Two representatives are elected from each year group, 7-11, in September.
The Student Community Forum will meet 6 times a year.
Clerk – Sixth Form Chairperson.
Minutes distributed by clerk to Student Council and Student Executive.
Agenda items are the responsibility the Community Action Officer.

Role

Strategic planning of student community activities/developments both inside and outside of Wellsway School.
Formulate and drive action plans by enlisting active support for projects from both inside and outside the Wellsway School community.
To support student enjoyment and achievement and overall school improvement.
To analyse and evaluate the activities of the Student Community Forum and to report to the school and wider community on work/successes/campaigns undertaken through an end of year report as well as termly updates in the Ammonite.

In years 7 to 11 the Student Community Forum will be elected within the first three weeks of the school year in September. This process will be initiated by Assistant Year team Leaders working in conjunction with their Year Teams.

The Student Community Forum will consist of one boy and one girl from each Year Group. In weeks one to three of the new school year Assistant Year Team Leaders will actively promote the work of the Student Community Forum and arrange for hustings in Assemblies and for elections to take place.

The Student Community Forum will further comprise Sixth Form Officers and the Deputy Headteacher (Student Support and Community).
