The artificial turf pitch was officially opened
on Wednesday 19th October 2005 by former headteacher, Mr Paul Kent.
Those attending the ceremony included staff,
pupils, governors, the headteachers of Chandag Infants School and
Chandag Junior School and representatives of Keynsham Town Council and
various local community projects.
The ceremony included speeches by Mr Paul Kent
and Mrs Arlidge, the new headteacher, followed by a dance display by
Wellsway pupils and students and a demonstration hockey match.

Despite the heavy rain which fell part way
through the ceremony, a good time was had by everyone before they
were invited back to Lansdown Hall for food and drinks.
